Rob has spent a working lifetime in IT and the last 17 years in the field of identity. As Business Development Director at GB Group, Rob was tasked with establishing a new division to design, develop and market the UK’s first purpose-built electronic identity verification service. The service became widely recognised as the market leader in age and identity verification with high street banks, building societies, share traders, mobile retailers and the gambling sector amongst several hundred clients. As MD, Rob delivered year on year triple digit growth, achieving profitability in year 3, and accounting for half the group’s revenue by year 5.
As time and the identity market moved on, so did Rob to seek a new challenge. In 2012, Rob started working with a start-up, Innovate Identity. Today, Innovate Identity is regarded as a thought leader in digital identity, providing specialist consulting services to governments, the financial services sector, suppliers and investors, to help them better understand the world of identity and develop digital strategies.
Edward has over twenty-five years’ experience working with leading edge and innovative technologies to realise business benefit. Edward is the Head of Digital Services at Gemserv since joining in September 2018. He leads the digital services practice, and works with our clients to define and deliver their digital strategies, ensuring they align with the goals of their business.
He has held many enterprise architecture roles, leading teams to deliver business, technology and security architectures, on varied projects in the government, health, energy, transport, financial and legal sectors.
Iain has been at the centre of change in the mobile industry since 1992.
He has held senior business development, strategic engagement and product marketing roles across the handset, messaging and mobile identity sectors in Europe, North America & APAC with an emphasis on regulatory and ministerial engagement within the EU and Russian Federation to further industry development.
Jonathan Middleton joined UK Finance in 2018 and leads UK Finance’s Digital and Innovation work across a range of policy areas including Digital Identity, AI, Fintech and Open Data Economy.
Prior to joining UK Finance, Jonathan was Head of Technology Policy at the Government Digital Service in the UK Cabinet Office. He was primarily responsible for managing cross-government policy and technology standards for how departments bought, built and managed their technology estate. He also led work on emerging and disruptive technologies including distributed ledger, AR/VR, internet of things, and AI/machine learning.
As President of the Digital ID & Authentication Council of Canada (DIACC), Joni builds on 15 plus years of experience in Digital Identity innovations and standards development. She helps DIACC to fulfil its vision of unlocking interoperability of public and private sector capabilities through the establishment of an identity trust framework that will grow Canada’s economy. Joni builds impactful relationships and formalizes strategic partnerships between organizations. She has participated in committees and initiatives around the world including: OECD-ITAC, ISOC, IEEE, OASIS-SSTC, ISO SC27 WG5, and she has testified before the US Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Security and Privacy (ONC HITSP).
Marie is IATA’s Head of Industry Architecture, assisting the airlines to define and drive digital transformation programs.
Prior to joining IATA, Marie led number of innovation programs applying automated identification, digital security and internet communications technologies to solve a wide range of airline business problems.
Richard is a Senior Policy Advisor for the FLA, specialising in fraud related issues within consumer credit, anti-money laundering and a number of other key issues for the consumer credit industry. He is also on the main Board and Editorial Board of the UK’s Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG).
Richard has a first degree in Economics and Geography, an M/Phil in Management, Economics and Politics and a PhD in International Corporate Governance. He also has a professional qualification in Competition Policy.
Stella has extensive experience in the gambling sector. Her earlier career spans more than two decades, predominantly as Casino Manager at leading high end London casinos and in Resourcing & Development, specialising in training, compliance and licensing.
Stella joined the BGC in 2019 following transition in her role as Regulatory Affairs Manager at The Remote Gambling Association.
Prior to this, Stella spent 9 years at GamCare as Head of Education & Prevention leading on the charity’s collaborative work to promote social responsibility and player protection standards in the UK and International.
