OIX represents the collective voice of its members to those who set the rules for Digital ID - typically governments. It communicates its members consolidated view of how to create and implement successful Digital ID ecosystems, legislation, regulation and trust frameworks.
The way we represent our members varies depending on the context and what we are trying to influence. It includes:
- formal consultation responses
- feedback on draft guidance
- representation on government forums
- representation to committees of elected representatives.
Member input is usually gained through a workshop approach where a broad consensus is reached to determine a single view from our chorus of voices, meaning our opinions are highly sought after and respected.
We are highly influential due to our deep collective expertise in Digital ID trust frameworks, as published in our guides. We take a 'critical friend' approach, providing qualified suggestions for improvement and evolution of proposed rules and regulations. This approach has been welcomed by governments, such the UK and EU.
Recent consultation and feedback responses can be found on the OIX Library.
