London, May 2021
Global technology company Thales, a leading provider of physical and digital identity have announced they have joined OIX. Thales is trusted to produce all of the UK identity documents/cards (ePassport, Driving License, biometric residency permit). As well as a global market presence in identity, Thales also provides a full range of cyber security solutions enabling integrated identity systems to be deployed in a safe and secure manner. With more than 30,000 organisations relying on Thales to verify the identities of people and devices around the world joining OIX is an important step in further expanding our presence in the UK. We believe OIX provides a critical forum for key players in the identity industry to come together to solve some of the big cross-sector challenges to enable the acceleration of digital ID uptake in the UK.
”Digital Identity has the potential to unlock significant economic value in the UK and Thales looks forward to working with OIX and our partner members to make this a reality,” said Andrew Musgrave, Thales UK, Country Director for Civil Business Developement.
“We are delighted that Thales have chosen to join the OIX community. This is a key time for Digital Identity in the UK - the UK Trust Framework rollout will generate a host of opportunity. We are very excited to have the Thales team onboard as we define this new market and drive for the adoption of Digital Identity.” said Nick Mothershaw, Chief Identity Strategist, OIX.
