OIX’s Identity Trust Conference will offer clarity around how global interoperability can be achieved
UK, 16 August 2022 – This is one of the most pressing issues around the implementation of digital ID for organisations that will soon have to accept trust framework assured digital IDs.
And, it is one of the key areas that will be comprehensively addressed at the Open Identity Exchange’s Identity Trust Conference 2022 on Thursday 29th September 2022, supported by Sopra Steria and Visa as gold sponsors and in media partnership with Biometric Update.
Global interoperability is one of the most important elements that must be achieved to enable digital ID success for everyone and one of the most challenging. If achieved, the benefits for all involved - from governments, trust frameworks creators and ID service providers to the organisations that will reply on digital ID and their end customers – will be significant.
To offer clarity, clear examples of where it is and isn’t working, and a place to ask those vital questions, the conference will feature two panels on global interoperability hosted by Daniel Goldschieder, CEO of yes.com.
The first panel discussion will delve into what Global Assured Identity Network (GAIN) is, how it can enable global interoperability of digital IDs and why it will benefit those organisations that will come to rely on digital ID and who are doing business with non-resident individuals and businesses.
This panel will include:
- Pieter Kassleman Principal Program Manager at Microsoft,
- Seema Kinda Johnson Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Nuggets,
- John Abbot Chief Commercial Officer at YOTI
- and Marie Austenaa Head of Digital Identity at VISA.
They will be discussing what is needed to make GAIN a reality. It will examine the progress that has been achieved so far and offer valuable insight into where global interoperability is heading.
The second panel on Trust Framework Interoperability will include representatives from established trust frameworks across the globe:
- Siddarth Shetty, Fellow at iSPIRT Foundation representing Aadhaar from India,
- Ruth Puente, Trustmark Verification Program Manager at DIACC from Canada
- and Jonas Brannvall, Head of International Business Expansion BankID representing BankID Sweden.
They will reflect on what global interoperability of IDs across frameworks means to them, discuss the foundational challenges in achieving global interoperability, explain what cross-trust framework discussions are already in progress and how the GAIN initiative can help define the way interoperability will work.
Nick Mothershaw, Chief Identity Strategist at OIX, said: “A lot of valuable work is underway to move forward on the issue of global interoperability, so that we can ensure the vast benefits and potential of digital ID can reach everyone involved. The conference will provide a much-needed place for organisations in all sectors, be it finance, property, age verification, employment vetting, property rental, travel or education, to gain clarity and ask the questions that still haven’t been answered for them.”
The conference will take place on Thursday 29th September 2022 at the QEll Centre in London, UK. The cost to attend the conference is £99 plus VAT. You can register HERE.
