UK, 27 July 2023 – The forthcoming #IdentityTrust2023 conference will explore key issues around digital ID wallets, decentralisation, interoperability, inclusion and fraud that need to be addressed to build trust for businesses from all sectors and enable digital ID adoption.
As the only conference in the world focused exclusively on digital ID, it forms a key part of the work by Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a global non-profit organisation that has been working across sectors, borders and with governments, to ensure that digital ID works well for organisations that will come to accept digital credentials.
#IdentityTrust2023 – Building Trust in Digital Identity - has been structured to address the most crucial elements that will impact how these organisations will adopt, digest and operate within the rapidly growing digital ID ecosystem. Entirely insight led, and with no selling, it will give those that attend greater clarity on why now is the time to adopt digital ID.
Confirmed keynote speakers include Louise French, Strategy Director from The Future Laboratory, who will explore the ‘authentiverse’ - a ‘citizen first’ perspective on digital trust to unpack, analyse and explore some of the key concepts shaping digital trust and identity authentication.
Nat Sakimura , Chair of the OpenID Foundation, will explore the fallacy of decentralisation, highlighting how hyper-decentralisation into trust ecosystems managed by just a few hosts is not necessarily a good thing.
With over 40 digital ID service providers now certified to the UK trust framework, a representative from the UK government’s Department of Science, Innovation and Technology will also provide an update on digital ID progress in the UK.
With over 300 organisations attending each year, the conference will offer case studies and example from sectors and countries where digital ID has had positive adoption, panel discussions on issues that have caused the greatest concerns and updates on major global initiatives.
The conference will take place on Thursday 28th September 2023 at County Hall in London.

Nick Mothershaw, Chief Identity Strategist at OIX, said: “Digital ID is fast becoming the primary route to accessing public and private sector services across the globe. Organisations across banking, finance, travel, gambling, higher education, home buying and selling, rental and many more, will need to be ready for it. That’s why #IdentityTrust2023 exists - it is focused on helping them get to a place where they can start accepting digital ID with confidence.”
This year’s Gold Sponsors are Sopra Steria and Synectics Solutions. Biometric Update is the official media partner.
