Leading industry experts will address major challenges around inclusion at the OIX’s #IdentityTrust2023 conference
UK, 25 August 2023 – The forthcoming #IdentityTrust2023 conference – Building Trust in Digital Identity – will explore in detail how and why an inclusion strategy must be central to digital ID progress and factored in from the very beginning.
Over six million people in the UK alone currently struggle to prove who they are. Across the globe, this is estimated at one billion people. As digital ID adoption moves forward, these people will be at risk of exclusion from products and services they are entitled to if steps are not taken now to ensure digital ID is inclusive. It’s a major challenge.
Addressing the key challenges around inclusion has been a significant focus for Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a global non-profit organisation that has been working across sectors, borders and with governments, to ensure that digital ID works well for organisations that will come to accept digital credentials.
The OIX’s #IdentityTrust2023 conference includes three key sessions dedicated to addressing the main challenges around inclusion, exploring how they can be solved to make digital ID a success.
Rachelle Sellung, Senior Scientist from the Fraunhofer Institute, will be providing valuable insight into current user experiences in early digital ID wallet implementations and highlighting why inclusion must be a key part of the initial design process of any digital ID product.
Dr Sarah Walton, Executive Lead at Women in Identity (WiD), will explain how it is vital that inclusion is designed into whole ID ecosystems from day one by diverse teams, and how WiDs upcoming code of conduct will enable this.
Elizabeth Garber, Co-Chair of GAIN Proof of Concept at the OpenID Foundation, will provide an overview of the different approaches that governments around the globe have taken to inclusion.
Nick Mothershaw, Chief Identity Strategist at OIX, said: “Digital ID has the ability to finally address the struggle that billions across the globe face to prove who they are, but there are a number of things that need to happen. We need a strategy on inclusion if digital ID is to succeed. This will be explored at the OIX #IdentityTrust2023 conference.”
Entirely insight led, and with no selling, the conference has been structured to address the most crucial elements that will impact how organisations will adopt, digest and operate within the rapidly growing digital ID ecosystem.
Aimed businesses from all sectors, the conference will take place on Thursday 28th September 2023 at County Hall in London. The full agenda can be found here. To attend, please register here.
This year’s Gold Sponsors are Sopra Steria and Synectics Solutions. Biometric Update is the official media partner.
